Curso de Osteologia Juvenil

A Universidade de Dundee irá promover em Agosto um curso focando especificamente a osteologia humana juvenil. A sua realização está dependente de um número mínimo de inscritos. Eis mais algumas informações:

Module 1 – Cranial Juvenile Osteology
(2nd-6th August)
• Embryology of cranial skeletal elements
• Developmental osteology and
morphology of the cranial bones
• Development of the dentition

Module 2 – Postcranial Juvenile Osteology
(9th-13th August)
• Embryology of postcranial skeletal elements
• Developmental osteology and morphology of
the postcranial bonés

Introduction
• Held within the Centre for Anatomy and Human
Identification, University of Dundee, Scotland, UK
• Choice of two week long residential modules:
Cranial Juvenile Osteology
Postcranial Juvenile Osteology
• Modules delivered by some of the leading world
experts in the field of human developmental
osteology
• Offers current professionals and those in training
an opportunity to enhance their continuous
professional development.

Course Outline
• To provide specialised training in cranial and
postcranial juvenile osteology
• Concepts and principles of the developing human
skeleton will be introduced, including the
embryology, development and morphology of each
individual bone within the human skeleton
• Intensive series of lectures and a large practical
component which will allow direct examination and
assessment of juvenile skeletal remains.
• Practical sessions based on the unique Scheuer
Collection of Juvenile Remains
• The Scheuer Collection is believed to be the only
active repository for juvenile skeletal remains held
anywhere in the world
